Overview

This course helps students use Mixly to develop automated systems involving multiple outputs, infrared communication, motor drivers, servos, stepper motors, relays, keypads, displays, and environmental sensors. They learn to organize projects with variables, conditions, functions, and system states.

What You’ll Learn?

Understand how robotic systems combine sensors, programming, decision-making, and actuators
Develop stronger C++ programming skills for controlling robotic systems
Use multiple sensors to collect and interpret information from the environment
Apply variables, conditions, loops, functions, and structured programming to robotics projects
Design robotic behaviors based on sensor readings and programmed decisions
Integrate sensors, motors, LEDs, buzzers, and other actuators into complete robotic systems
Understand how robots can respond automatically to changes in their environment
Develop more complex robotic mechanisms and control systems
Learn systematic methods for testing, debugging, and troubleshooting both hardware and software
Analyze robotic performance and improve designs through iteration
Apply engineering and computational thinking to solve practical robotics challenges
Design, build, program, test, and improve project-based robotic solutions
Develop teamwork, creativity, problem-solving, and independent engineering skills

Requirements

Previous robotics experience is recommended
Basic Arduino and C++ programming knowledge is recommended
Access to the required robotics kit and programming computer
Students should follow the engineering development process:
Analyze → Design → Build → Program → Test → Debug → Improve → Present
Students should understand the complete system:
Sensors → Data → C++ Program → Decision → Actuator
Students should test individual hardware and software components before integrating them into a complete robotic system
Students should document their circuits, code, testing results, errors, and improvements
Students should safely handle electronic components, sensors, motors, and robotics equipment
